A little about your hosts:
Based in upstate New York, Chris just finished a year and a half supporting Flex and has been a long time supporter and source code contributer to the Koolmoves community. He’s old as dirt and has been coding since the early days of computing starting with his first BBS back in 86 (Organized Chaos). The last ten years he has devoted himself to SWF creations targeted for the FlashPlayer runtime using everything from Flash to Swishmax to Flex and also loves to create desktop applications based on flash content using SWf Studio and Adobe AIR. He’s been a huge fan, user and contributer of Koolmoves for nearly four years and not one to miss any boat that floats, he’s so excited about the new version of Koolmoves, he’s decided to dedicate all his free time to it and the Koolmoves community.
Laurence, better known in this world as Stokelaurie, is of even an earlier vintage than Chris. He was first introduced computers back in 1977, within the University environment, and passed his course by writing a horse betting programme in basic, saved on paper tape! A very big fan of Alan Sugar, the British businessman responsible for the Amstrad range of home and office computers Laurence became an enthusiastic user and trainer of others in the very exciting period of introduction of computers into the business environment. His first software was sold to British Nuclear Electric, an interactive training package for Nuclear power station guards, to emulate the emergency muster procedures required to work with the software he had installed to 7 stations in the UK. He became involved in the internet for one reason, there was absolutely no way he was going to live in a time of such remarkable change, affecting just about all aspects of our lives, without wanting to ride the wave. He has always been a fan of Flash as a vehicle for providing dynamic, entertaining and visually exciting information, and his pet hate is websites which do more harm to the image of a company than good. When it is so easy to look good, why would you want to look bad?
StokeLaurie now runs The Web Shop Factory, a quality hosting company, and is involved in website production, he also earns a good proportion of his income from established successful e-commerce sites.
The koolmoves community has been incredible in offering me free support and help, and I an very pleased to have this opportunity to give something back.
